1. Legacy by Arthur Hills Golf Course & Restaurant The Legacy Golf Club
is an upscale public golf course with the conditions and atmosphere of a
country club. Golf Digest has given The Legacy a 4 1/2 star rating and
ranked it among the Top 200 Courses to Play in the country. Opened in
1997 on 207 semi-rolling acres, this Arthur Hills designed masterpiece
is located in southeastern Lower Michigan's Monroe County, just minutes
from Blissfield. |

2. Siena Heights University A Catholic university
founded and sponsored by the Adrian Dominican Sisters, Siena Heights is a
coeducational institution accredited by the Higher Learning Commission
of the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools. Siena
Heights University was founded in the liberal arts tradition, offering
associate's, bachelor's and master's degrees. The university is
headquartered in Adrian, Michigan with degree completion centers in
Southfield, Monroe, Jackson, Battle Creek, Lansing, Benton Harbor and Port
Huron and a theological program in partnership with the Diocese of
Lansing. |

3. Adrian College Adrian College is a private,
co-educational college of liberal arts and sciences related to The
United Methodist Church. It is accredited by the North Central
Association of Colleges and Schools and consists of twenty-one buildings
including residence halls that feature voice mail, internet and cable TV
access in all student rooms; a 24-hour student center; a planetarium; an
observatory; the Merillat Sport and Fitness Center; and the Shipman
Library. The student to computer ratio is 8 to 1. |

4. Historic Croswell Opera House The
Croswell Opera House has been at the center of Adrian's downtown for 137
years and continues to be a center for the arts in Lenawee County.
Since its opening, the opera house has seen many types of entertainment
upon its stage. Traveling acting companies, bands and famous
orators in the 1800s and 1900s, movies, both silent and talking, from
1921 to 1967, and the return to live theater performances in 1968.
Today the theater has gained a reputation for presenting quality
musicals and plays with the help of its community and equity actors and
volunteers. The theater is unique in that it is open year round
and successfully maintains a staff of nine full time employees and a
nearly $1,000,000 budget annually. |

5. Michigan International Speedway Michigan
International Speedway is recognized as one of motorsports' premier
facilities because of its wide racing surface and high banking. These
two factors make three-and four-abreast racing as routine as the
checkered flag at the end of a race. The
2.0 mile, tri-oval
track has turns with banking of 18 degrees. |

6. Cabela's Cabela's
store is one of the biggest tourist draws in the state with an estimated
6 million visitors each year.
The store
has a 225,000-square-foot showroom that has just about anything an
outdoorsman would want or need, including hunting and fishing equipment
and clothing. The store attracts loyal customers from all over the
country. The interior, lodge-like
setting has hundreds of mounted game on the walls as well as two
wildlife dioramas. The store also has aquariums, a restaurant, a
shooting gallery for kids and a gift shop. |

7. Toledo Attractions Among
the many attractions of our neighbor Toledo (only 20 min. away) are shown
at right. The world class Toledo Museum of Art, Tony Packo's Cafe
(of TV's MASH fame), and the Toledo Mudhens baseball team and park.
Other great destinations include the Toledo Zoo, the Toledo Museum of Art
and Historic Fort Meigs. Toledo is also
well-know for its many fantastic restaurants. |

8. Jackson, MI Jackson is rich in history and heritage. Our quaint towns and the city of Jackson invite you to experience the many historic sites and tour some of the oldest homes in Michigan. Jackson was instrumental in the Underground Railroad, the Civil War, as well as being the birthplace of the Republican Party. Family, fun
and value are key attributes in Jackson and the community is anxious to
share it all with visitors. Our cultural activities abound from symphony
concerts to museums to Broadway shows and Shakespeare. |

9. Hillsdale College Hillsdale College was
founded in 1844 and is located in south central Michigan. It is a
four-year, independent, liberal arts, co-educational and non-sectarian
institution. They educate 1,160 full-time students from 48 states and 15
countries. The college is an enduring symbol of independence. They have
enrolled women and minorities since before the Civil War. Hillsdale does
not accept any federal funding because federal funds invariably means
federal control. |

10. Sauder Village From sheep
shearing and planting in the spring to harvesting and preserving in the
fall, every day at Historic Sauder Village is unique and special!
Experience history up close as costumed staff leads many activities and
demonstrations of daily rural life in the 19th and early 20th centuries.
Depending on the day and season, your visit may include hymn singing,
demonstrations of old printing techniques, samples of a 19th century
recipe or a chance to taste a homemade pickle or help with food
preparation. The craft buildings and studios are home to several
nationally recognized craftsmen working with traditional crafts in both
historic and modern interpretations. |

11. Maumee Bay State Park Maumee Bay State Park
offers not only the finest of recreational facilities in the Midwest, but
also a unique natural environment created by the convergence of the land
and Lake Erie. The
lodge, cottages and golf course are nestled among the scenic meadows, wet
woods and lush marshes teeming with wildlife. The balance of recreational
facilities with the natural world gives visitors a diverse experience in a
coastal environment.

12. River Raisin Battlefield Visitors Center The battle fought here
on Jan 22, 1813 was one of the largest engagements of the War of 1812.
Of 934 Americans who fought here, only 33 escaped death or capture.
The massacre of wounded soldiers the following day shocked and enraged
Americans throughout the Old Northwest Territory. The
display includes dioramas & full-size British & American soldiers,
as well as a fiber-optic map presentation on the Battle of the River
Raisin.

13. University of Michigan The University of Michigan was
founded in 1817 as one of the first public universities in the nation. It
was first established on 1,920 acres of land ceded by the Chippewa,
Ottawa, and Potawatomi people "...for a college at Detroit." The
school moved from Detroit to Ann Arbor in 1837. The university is
one of the most distinguished universities in the world and a leader in
higher education. It is one of only two public institutions consistently
ranked in the nation's top ten universities, with over 51,000 students and
5,600 faculty at three campuses. |

14. The Henry Ford The Henry Ford is the history
destination that brings the American Experience to life is located in
Dearborn, Michigan on the corner of Village Road and Oakwood Boulevard,
just west of the Southfield Freeway (M-39) and south of Michigan Avenue
(US-12). With a rich and diverse offering of exhibits, demonstrations,
programs and reenactments, The Henry Ford celebrates yesterday’s
traditions as well as today’s innovations. Five distinct attractions at
The Henry Ford captivate and inspire visitors of all ages. They
include Greenfield Village, Henry Ford Museum, the Ford
Rouge Factory Tour, Benson Ford Research Center and the IMAX
Theater. |
